The little things we once shared, like making two cups of coffee, can become reminders of someone who's no longer with us.

Inspired by Bluesdad's song Coffee for Two, the holiday is one of remembrance and hope. It's about celebrating the memories that still bring us joy and sharing a little kindness along the way.

Meaning Behind Coffee for Two Day

On September 22, 2026, a Michigan artist named Bluesdad released Coffee for Two, just weeks after Dolly Parton's passing. Three days later, the world celebrated Dolly Parton Day on 9/25, inspired by her hit song and movie 9 to 5.

"Wouldn't it be great to have a day on the calendar that brings people back to my music year after year?" Bluesdad pondered.

Then it hit him.

4/2!

The date is in the song title—Coffee for Two. And just like that, Coffee for Two Day was born!
